Korentine didn't come into this world alone. Not only did she have her Duszai as a companion when the babe finally came into the world, she also had her twin. Her other half, that was all the best that Korentine could never be. Of course she did not know that as a child. She had no concept of good and bad, only what felt right and who she loved. And she loved her sister. They did everything together, as twins would, and being one of seven siblings, the bond between her and her sister was close.
Korentine's life was not a hard one, despite being one of seven, she had nearly anything and everything she could ever want. She hated the attention that was lavished upon herself and always worked to focus it on her sister. Even though her family promoted a 'pack mentality', she could do nothing more than consider herself a lone wolf. She does not confide in many, tending to rely on herself and a very select few. She's even grown to keeping secrets from her other half.
Korentine has a certain outlook in life, she desires what she believes is her right. Weston's hierarchy is not ruled by who was born first, but rather who is smart and strong enough to endure the trails of the Hunt and survive. Korentine believes that she is the one that rightfully should take her place as Queen. She's done a lot in her years to garner power beyond being just a princess, having gone to school for several different things (since she could given her wealth and time). An extremely determined woman Korentine definitely is not one to try to stop.
However, her parents, perhaps because they see what she's capable of or perhaps they believe she'd be the only one fit to tame the wild beast that is the Prince of Arcadia, have put her in a position of marriage with the other prince. It infuriates her, if she takes his name she no longer is in the running for the Hunt. Her parents will not hear her arguments, so she's decided to put her twin sister in her place.
Of course that's not necessarily the easiest of things, especially since her parents are damned determined to marry her off. So far she's been engaged to the Prince of Arcadia for three months, they've met twice, and he's met Kamryn once, but so far she can not seem to dissuade any of them to put Kamryn in her place.
